Shared Death Experiences: Glimpses of Eternity? by Raymond A. Moody, Jr.

Image result for glimpses of heaven

Quite commonly, bystanders at the death of someone else emphatically report co-living the dying experience of that other person. I first heard such a shared death experience from one of my professors of medicine, who was also a practicing physician, in December 1972.

This doctor had the unfortunate duty of trying to resuscitate her own mother, who died despite the resuscitation effort. She told me that when she felt her mother die, she found herself floating out of her body and viewing the scene from above. She saw her own physical body and the now-deceased body of her mother down below. She said, “As I was trying to get my bearings,” (her exact words) she became aware of her mother, “now in spirit form” (again, her exact words) alongside her.
She said her goodbyes to her mother, who receded into an intensely brilliant, white light. The physician saw figures emerging from the light as though to greet the spirit of her dying mother. The physician recognized some of the figures as deceased relatives and friends of her mother’s. However, she did not recognize the others and assumed that they were loved ones of her mother who had died before she herself had been born.
My professor saw the spirit of her mother reunited with the figures, whereupon they appeared to be drawn back into the light. Then the light was gone. The way the light vanished reminded her of the way in which the lens of a camera closes in a spiral. She found herself back in her own physical body, standing beside the deceased body of her mother.

From: CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD

If you knew Who You Are - that you are the most magnificent, the most remarkable, the most splendid being God has ever created - you would never fear. For who could reject such wondrous magnificence? Not even God could find fault in such a being. But you do not know Who You Are, and you think you are a great deal less.

From: Life on the Other Side by Sylvia Browne

Several psychiatrist, psychologist, and physician friends were doing their own research into reincarnation at the time, and we consulted with each other regularly. Finally several of us gathered one weekend for a panel discussion on the subject, in an auditorium.
Before we started, we discussed the possibility of doing a spontaneous past-life regression onstage, on a volunteer from the audience. My colleagues were hesitant about it. My attitude was, as always: if it works, it works. If it doesn't, it doesn't. But we'll never know until we try.
A handful of people volunteered, and I chose an attractive, well-dressed young man who looked as if he wasn't quite buying this reincarnation blather, but he was patient enough to keep listening on the off chance that we were right.
Before I began the hypnosis process, I asked him if he had any physical or emotional health problems or any phobias that were bothering him. He mentioned a chronically painful right foot, which podiatrists couldn't seem to cure. As for phobias, he confessed a fear that no matter how successful he became or how hard he tried to be liked, people would always see through him, figure out how  inadequate he really was, and laugh at him behind his back.
He was a good subject, willing but not too eager, and easy to hypnotize. I took him slowly through the regression to show the audience how it worked, to keep him comfortable, and to prove that I wasn't leading him and that all the information came from him, not from me. We worked patiently back through this lifetime, to his birth, to the moment of his conception, to his death in a life before this one.
And then we all watched as, with no cue from me, his right foot turned in, as if it were deformed, and his whole demeanor changed from a veneer of self-confidence to a shy, sad, apologetic shadow.
I asked him what today's date was. He gave me a date in 1821, which was 154 years ago.
He introduced himself with a name different from the one he'd given when he arrived onstage, and as far as he was concerned we were in a small town in Virginia instead of a city in northern California. His brief life was an embarrassing burden to his parents and a lonely object of ridicule among his classmates.
My subject on that particular afternoon reported several months later that he'd never suffered another  moment of discomfort in his foot, and never again had he worried about others laughing at him.
Reincarnation is God's logical, loving, compassionate design for the eternal journey of our spirits.
I didn't just want to believe it, I had too much evidence not to believe it.

From: Life on the Other Side - By Sylvia Browne

I was doing weight-loss hypnotherapy on a new client when he suddenly seemed to lose his mind. First he talked, in the present tense, about his life in Egypt as a builder of pyramids. He included some fascinating details about antigravitational devices that were so fantastic I couldn't follow them. Next he launched into a lengthy monologue in what sounded like an endless series of nonsense syllables. I thought he was having a psychotic episode and knew it could be dangerous to him for me to interrupt him, so I listened and tried to appear calm while silently begging him not to become violent. But then, just as suddenly as he flipped out, he snapped right back to his normal, soft-spoken, pleasant self again, as if the previous half hour had never happened.
With his permission, I sent a tape of that session to a professor friend of mine at Stanford and asked for his objective evaluation. If this client needed psychiatric help, I was prepared to drive the poor man there myself.
Three days after I delivered the tape to Stanford, my phone rang, and a voice on the other end said, "Where did you get this tape?" I had never heard my professor friend sound so excited.
I responded with a noncommittal, "Why do you ask?"
It seems that in those three days, he had studied and researched that tape and shared it with colleagues who researched it as well, and they came to a conclusion that astounded us all: my client's supposed "nonsense syllables" were really an obscure seventh-century-B.C. Assyrian dialect in which any number of pyramid builders would have been fluent.

Astral Travel by Sylvia Browne from: Life on the Other Side

Christopher seemed to learn to astrally project at around the same time he learned to walk. We had a shag carpet in our house when Chris was a toddler. I can't count the number of times when he would be sitting serenely beside me, and I would notice he was being a little too serene. Next thing I knew, while his body never moved, I would see tiny footprints in the carpet as his spirit merrily pranced off to play. A stern "Chris, get back here!" was all it took to retrieve him, and he would look innocently up at me with a little smile that said, "Who, me? I'm just sitting here."
The first astral trip Angelia took that we know of happened when she was three. Chris and his wife, Gina, and I tucked her in one night as usual. There was a balloon beside her bed, left over from an earlier party. Angelia seemed to be sound asleep when the three of us tiptoed out of her room and returned to the den. At first we only found it odd, some silly fluke of the drafts in the house, that the balloon followed us every step of the way. But the fluke theory fell apart when it then followed Chris into the kitchen, from the refrigerator to the cabinets to the sink, pausing with him at each place until he'd finished there and moved on. By now we were incredulous, so Chris began marching through the house, turning sharp corners, heading halfway up the stairs and down again, stepping into and abruptly out of rooms again, and that balloon never left his side. Finally a possible explanation occurred to me, and I turned to Chris and Gina and said, "Come with me." The four of us - Chris, Gina, me, and our new pet balloon - headed to Angelia's room. I sat down beside her on the bed and whispered, "Angelia, what are you doing?" There was a giggle in her voice when she replied, "Following Daddy."

From: Visits from the Afterlife - By Sylvia Browne

When my father was very young, he had a great aunt who lived with his family. One day his older sister was baby-sitting him while their parents were out for the afternoon. He walked past his great aunt's room and noticed that she was packing up all her belongings. He asked her where she was going. She told him she was going to be gone for a very long time and that she loved him, and then she walked out the front door with her bag in her hand.
As soon as his parents got home my father told them about his great aunt leaving. They apparently stared silently at each other for several moments, and then finally, a little awkwardly, my dad's mother asked, "Do you remember what she was wearing?"
My father described as best he could the dark blue high collared jacket and long skirt his great aunt was wearing when she walked out the door. There was another silence, and then my father's parents led him into the parlor, sat down with him, and told him why they were acting so oddly. They believed every word he was telling them, because they'd kept from him where they'd been so he wouldn't be upset, but they'd spent the afternoon at that same great-aunt's funeral. And the outfit my father described her wearing when she left was exactly what she was wearing in her casket.
I've talked to everyone who was there that day - my father, my grand parents, and my father's older sister - and they have identical memories of it, they assure me it hasn't been embellished or exaggerated over the years, and they each become kind of quiet and preoccupied when they talk about it. It happened, there's no doubt about that, it's just that to this day they still can't quite understand it. - E. W.

From: Visits from the Afterlife - By Sylvia Browne

Two days before my mom died, while she was on the respirator in the hospital after suffering a stroke and a heart attack, she came to me during the night. I was sitting on the couch, unable to sleep because of the stress of worrying about her, and suddenly there she was beside me. She was somewhat transparent, but I could see her clearly and I was ecstatic because she was speaking to me, even though she wasn't really using her voice. I could feel her deep love and her presence. I asked her what she wanted, and she smiled.
She reassured me that all was well and that she would be going Home two days later. She wanted me to help my brothers with her departure, and she gave me messages for them. Ten years later she still comes to visit us from time to time, and I can feel her warmth and see her smile before she leaves. - A.L.

LIFE ON THE OTHER SIDE - By Sylvia Browne

Whoever the messiah, there will never be an instant when their presence is not with us. Their message is simple and profound: "Especially when life seems at its most unfair and your faith is darkened by the cruelty of human doubt, even if you don't remember me at those moments, I am right beside you always, my strong hand taking yours and guiding you through."

The parable of The Little Soul and The Sun from The Conversations with God

"You may choose to experience any Aspect of Divinity in, as, and through you."

"Then I choose Forgiveness. I want to experience my Self as that Aspect of God called Complete Forgiveness" said the Little Soul.
Well, this created a little challenge, as you can imagine.
There was no one to forgive.
"No one to forgive? asked the Little Soul, somewhat incredulously.
"No one," I repeated. "Look around you. Do you see any souls less perfect, less wonderful than you?"
At this the Little Soul twirled around, and was surprised to see himself surrounded by all the souls in heaven. They had come from far and wide throughout the Kingdom, because they heard that the Little Soul was having an extraordinary conversation with God.
"I see none less perfect than I!" the Little Soul exclaimed. "'who, then, shall I have to forgive?"
Just then, another soul stepped forward from the crowd. "You may forgive me" said this Friendly Soul.
"For what?" the Little Soul asked.
"I will come into your next physical lifetime and do something for you to forgive," replied the Friendly Soul
"But what? What could you, a being of such Perfect Light, do to make me want to forgive you?" the Little Soul wanted to know.
“Oh,” smiled the Friendly Soul, “I’m sure we can think of something.”
“But why would you want to do this?” The Little Soul could not figure out why a being of such perfection would want to slow down its vibration so much that it could actually do something “bad.”
“Simple,” the Friendly Soul explained, “I would do it because I love you. You want to experience your Self as Forgiving, don’t you? Besides, you’ve done the same for me.”
“I have?” asked the Little Soul.
“Of course. Don’t you remember? We’ve been All Of It, you and I. We've been the Up and the Down of it, and the Left and the Right of it. We've been the Here and the There of it, the Male and the Female of it, the Good and the Bad of it. We've all been the All of it.
"And we've done it by agreement, so that each of us might experience ourselves as The Grandest Part of God. For we have understood that....
"In the absence of 'cold,' you cannot be 'warm.' In the absence of 'sad,' you cannot be 'happy,' without a thing called 'evil,' the experience you call 'good' cannot exist.
If you choose to be a thing, something or someone opposite to that has to show up somewhere in your universe to make that possible."
The Friendly Soul then explained that those people are God's Special Angels, and these conditions God's Gifts.
"I ask only one thing in return," the Friendly Soul declared.
"Anything! Anything," the Little Soul cried. He was excited now to know that he could experience every Divine Aspect of God. He understood, now, The Plan.
"In the moment that I strike you and smite you," said the Friendly Soul, "in the moment that I do the worst to you that you could ever imagine - in that selfsame moment . . . remember Who I Really Am."
"Oh, I won't forget!" promised the Little Soul. "I will see you in the perfection with which I hold you now, and I will remember Who You Are, always."

Have you, My Little Soul, kept this promise to others?

No, I'm sad to say I have not.

Do not be sad. Be happy to notice what is true, and be joyous in your decision to live a new truth.

FROM HOME WITH GOD

One way to achieve being centered is to look into your own eyes in a mirror. This is an incredibly powerful tool. The trick is to not turn away if this deep looking becomes uncomfortable. If you are able to hold your own gaze for more than a count of ten, you will begin to experience such compassion and love for yourself that you will almost not know what to do with that feeling.
It could be very difficult for you to take in this feeling if you are not used to loving yourself-and most people, sadly, are not. Just be with the feeling and embrace it.

Continue looking deeply and more deeply into your own eyes. If you use a hand mirror, you can be sitting when you do this. Now all at once, after looking deeply into your own eyes for as long as you can, simply and quickly close your eyes-and be with the feeling that follows. Very often you will feel merged with the Essence. This could last only a moment-or for the rest of the day.

THE PLAN: By Dr. Steve Hudson (An imaginary story of what happens when our earthly life is over and we go back Home....) www.awakeningangels.ca

They sat around a large table in their celestial mansion sipping spiritual martinis and reminiscing over their last lifetime together on Earth It had been exciting, adventurous and terrifying, especially the devastating train crash at the end that send them all Home and into the waiting arm of Azrael, the loving Angel of Death. He had been so pleased to see them all again. These half dozen souls had journeyed together as a family since the beginning of time like a group of traveling players each acting their chosen part in one earthly drama after the next.

Lintar was the first to speak as he raised his glass in the air, "I propose a toast to honor all the magnificent souls who were part of our many physical experiences. May we continue to grow and know ourselves more deeply with each passing lifetime." The others followed with similar salutations and knew exactly what was coming next. They shuffled in their seats with excited anticipation and waited for Lintar to continue. "I've been thinking," he mused out loud, "we need a new plan.

I think in our next lifetime I would like to be a successful businessman," he began. "Yes, wealth and comfort this time and how about a loving wife and family to complete the picture?" He glanced over at Minoc, his trusted companion, who could read his mind in an instant.

"I have got it," she said as her eyes lit up. "I'll wait a year to be born in the same neighborhood you grow up in, We can become childhood sweethearts and get married soon after High School." She thought for a moment or two longer. "Let's have three children by the time we are in our early twenties.

Three small hands on the other side of the table shot into the air. "Can we play the children" they shouted all together? "Please.....please......please!" Lintar smiled at the mockery. His three "children" were as old as he was. They just liked getting into character as early as possible.

"Good, that's settled," he went on and summed up the plan thus far. "High School sweethearts; loving family and a successful business by the time I'm forty. That sounds great"

"That sounds utterly boring," contradicted Suto in a sexy, sultry voice. She was the only one who hadn't added her ten cents worth to the conversation yet. "How about I wait ten or fifteen years to be born and you hire me as your personal, private secretary when the time is right. I can be the femme fatale of the story. I can see me now - long beautiful hair and flashing blue eyes. Darling, you won't be able to resist me -count on it!"

And with that, the plan began to gain momentum. "Good," exclaimed Minoc. "You can have a long and passionate affair with my husband and after about a year, I get to discover your treachery."

"Then what?" said Lintar, wondering what his soul mates were cooking up next.

"Well," said his wife-to-be, "I will divorce you and take all your money: the children will hate you and never want to see you again?"

Before she could finish her train of thought, Lintar jumped right back in. "Yes," he agreed excitedly. "And then I'll go into a deep depression and lose my company as well. So before I come back Home I can experience despair. I've always wanted to experience the depths of despair. The utter hopelessness of having lost everything and everyone I ever loved in my life. I think I will choose to die a destitute beggar on the streets of Cleveland in winter. That should do it. But what about you guys? Everyone has to get something out of this drama.

Minoc thought for a while. "I guess I would experience betrayal, wouldn't I? After all, you were the only man I ever loved and I gave you the best years of my life."

The vibration of the room suddenly went up by several octaves as the presence of The Creator was felt. She touched Minoc gently on the shoulder and whispered for all to hear, "Don't forget "forgiveness" my little ones. Your drama will give you all a great opportunity to forgive those you feel have "wronged" you."

"I'll try to remember," said Minoc, "but when we are in that heavy earthly energy it isn't easy."

"I know," The Creator replied, "but when you forgive, you vibrate as I do and all wounds can be healed. These dark experiences you are choosing will allow you know your self as only Love and Light. So, bon voyage on your next journey and remember that my Angels and I will always be with you, even in your darkest moments," And with that, The Creator left the room.

They turned to Suto who had already given some thought to her part in the play. "I could experience guilt at breaking up a family and ruining the life of a good man. But what about the children - what would they get out of the drama?"

The three "children" were now totally in character and running around the room playing leap frog. They went into a huddle and after a while Putar spoke up on behalf of the trio. "This experience will give all three of us some powerful emotions to deal with, he began. "We will hate our father for hurting our mother so badly, but at the same time, we will resent her for taking us away from him. By the time he leaves us we will have grown to love him so much that the abandonment will be unbearable. Oh yes, we will also have the opportunity to forgive him, but that, most likely, won't come until we get older and the emotional wounds aren't quite so raw."

Lintar stroked his chin and smiled. "Now that sounds like a plan! All we have to do now is to incarnate and forget it."

The Shakespeare quote that, "All the world's a stage and we men and women merely players," is true at the deepest spiritual level. We are incarnations of our soul with a plan to experience it all over every lifetime, past, present and future; and our soul family dutifully play their parts along the way. '''But remember, the one who comes into your life and hurts you, betrays you, or causes you any of the darkest experience laid out in your Life Plan, is also the one who loves you the most. For who else would love you enough to give you that experience?

The Magic Rule of 21: From 'The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari'

The Magic Rule of 21
For new behavior to crystallize into a habit, one had to perform the new activity for twenty-one days in a row. The only way to permanently install a new habit is to direct so much energy toward it that the old one slips away like an unwelcome house guest. The installation is generally complete in about twenty-one days, the time it takes to create a new neural pathway.
So, staying with your goal for a period of twenty-one days and performing the new activity at the same time for each of these days, will insert it into your routine. Whether it is meditation, getting up earlier or reading for an hour every day, soon you will be performing the new habit with the same ease that you feel while brushing your teeth.

From: Between Death and Life

Some people think that there is no life after death. But once something exists, the energy which is that existence cannot be destroyed. Why is it so hard to believe that there is existence after the death of a physical body? You cannot destroy something like electricity because the energy is always there although in a different form. Why do they think that a human spirit and soul can 'be destroyed' when energy cannot? That is what the human soul is-nothing but energy. For the soul is not merely a thing which is residing within the physical body. It is an energy. And as an energy, it can propagate as energies are wont to do. The correct perception of your personality would be as energy, for that is the essence of the truth of creation- that all is energy. Some forms are on lower levels such as the physical world around you; but they are energy and can be demonstrated as such by simple conversion processes such as fire. All matter is in reality, energy. It is simply manifested in a lower, baser form. And so you can see yourselves as pure beings of energy, nothing more, nothing less. There is no such thing as matter. This is simply a connotation which has been given to describe that which is apparent around the "physical" world.
